That's why I would recommend developing e-Learning modules about: 1. Discovering your "Brand", "Niche" or Unique Selling Point. Without a clearly defined product, you don't have something to sell. 2. Business 101: basic skills for self-starters. -logistics: setting up your office -effectively working from home -creating a business plan -raising funds: getting grants, loans -budgeting & bookkeeping -CRM management -Legal aspects: contracts, LLC/sole proprietorship -Union vs Non-Union -Insurance 3. Basic equipment to get started -hardware -software -creating the ideal recording environment 4. Promotion: drumming up business -Marketing -Advertising -Networking 5.Selling -the art of auditioning -negotiating -after sales 6. Recording & editing 7. But there are existing forums and blogs that already offer the same/similar content, so it will be interesting to see what makes yours unique once it's launched. And I do appreciate your efforts to introduce such a project. In the meantime, I subscribed to stay updated. I might be inclined to feature this on my blog once it officially launches. As an agent one of the biggest issues I personally see is that talent can have a great voice & even be super experienced & credited... BUT - their auditions sound like they are reading/announcery etc. Not much acting or emotion behind them. I would love for talent to be instilled with the capability & fearlessness to bring their personalities into the read. Jean Barrett is a talent who has this down to a T - when you listen to her auditions - you get a sense of her personality, you feel like she is talking to you, as if it weren't even a TV r radio commercial but a conversation between us. I would love a class that focuses on just this. My two cents. Lots of ideas but this is the one that stands out at the top of the list as an agent anyhow.
