Terry Daniel’s Voice Overs Take Center Stage

The career of voice overs began with Daniel over 15 years ago, when he began working as a radio host which reviewed movies, known as “The Movie Guys.”  He then grew into becoming a professional D.J. for 104.1, a smooth jazz station, as well as alternative rock station, 105.7.  After this, he moved into working as a marketing executive for Clear Channel and CBS Radio.  It was after this career move that Daniel broke free into his own endeavors and began to move into his voice over talent niche.

For instance, have you heard of Blackboard? No, I don’t mean that chalky thing with the erasers. I’m talking Blackboard, the online resource between you and your professors. What can you do with said Blackboard? You can download class notes and study materials, link to the library, get podcasts, and even get your grade! But how do you tap into this abundant resource of webtacular magic?  Just use your default username and password at blackboard.uc.edu.

Your username and password also open your BEARCAT ONLINE  E-MAIL ACCOUNT. Now this isn’t your run of the mill tell Jill what Suzy said e-mail account, NO SIR! This is your official connection to all things UNIVERSITY, so don’t forget to check it, OFTEN!

And how about that iPod in your pocket? Ever heard of podcasting? You can now get class lectures through Blackboard ready to download to your mp3 player, because who said taking notes in class was easy?

The Boy who cried Wolf

    Narrator    Once upon a time there were some quiet villagers living in security and happiness….  They made their living by trading and exchanging sheep’s wool shorn from their own sheep with colourfull silk textiles from India.
Amongst these villagers there was a man to whom Allah the Almighty had granted a great many sheep, whose numbers continued to increase, year after year.  This man gave the responsibility of watching the flocks to his only son; Saïd.

Saïd had to go in the early morning at sunrise with his sheep to the hillside where there was some grass and come back at sunset…
He used to enjoy himself mocking other people as he found it very exiting; and his father used to advise him not to do so as it is a sign of hypocrisy as stated by our Prophet, peace be upon him:
"The signs of the hypocrite are three:
 when he speaks he lies,
when he promises he breaks his promise
and when he is trusted he betrays the trust."

One night the boy sat by the window and said to himself:

    The Boy    Tomorrow I will make the villagers know that I am the most intelligent boy in the village!

    Narrator    The boy stayed for long time by the window thinking up a plan and finally after finalising his villainous plan he gave himself up to a deep sleep…
…. so what will his plan be this time?

    Narrator    In the early morning he got up, very exited after his sleep and left the village taking his sheep towards the hillside where they could eat the dry grass all day

    The Boy    I will take a rest in the shadow under this tree… I am tooo  tiiiired …of following these sheep that never stop eating… and never even lift up their heads to see what is going around them … how bored they must be…!

    Narrator    He took a rest and then he said to himself:

    The Boy    This the time to carry out my plan: now …
Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep! help    help   help   it’s the wolf…  it’s the wolf… he’s attacking my sheep help help hurry up hurry up…

    Narrator    All the villagers came in a hurry to save the boy and the sheep.  They ran   everywhere … they searched every place..

    Villagers    Let’s look there … and you… look behind the hills … you wait here to help Saïd …
Okay let’s go … come on guys…[three or more different villagers' voices at the same time getting themselves in order, army style]

    Narrator    After a while the villagers came back tired with running everywhere chasing after the wolf and said to the boy:

    Villagers    Where is the wolf?  We didn’t see any wolf!…[angrily]

        [trying to hide his lies… in a hesitating and confused way]
But I saw him running after my sheep… and after hearing  you coming the wolf just disappeared  towards that hill… there …over there…no, no I think behind the other hill… I meaaaaan ?????…..

    Villagers    [interrupting his speech]
You are lying again, boy…Don’t be a liar. “A believer never lies", as our Prophet, peace be upon him, said.
Let’s go back.  We shouldn’t have listened to Saïd.  That’s it!  We shall never trust him again…

    The boy    [laughing]
HA HA HA HA HA…that was really fun… I don’t believe my eyes… all these people running everywhere!… chasing a wolf that never existed!  In fact I don’t even think there are any wolves in this area…
[Imitating the villagers' voices…]
There, have a look behind the hill, … no no may be he is on the other side …
HA HA HA HA HA… That was fun!
   
   
    Narrator    This time it was a  REAL WOLF. Wolf! Wolf!

       
    The Boy    [talking to his sheep] 
Did you enjoy my trick, dear sheep?… HA HA HA HA HA…

    The Wolf    AaaaaooooooooOOOOOOOO

    The Boy    Oh, what was that?..

    The Wolf    AaaaooooooooooooOOOOOOOO

    Narrator    This time it was a  REAL WOLF…

       
    The Boy    It’s the wolf… Oh Allah … what shall I do?
Oh yes: the villagers, I must call them…
The Wolf,..Wolf, Wolf… it is a trick … no no no I mean It’s the real wolf, it’s the truth, believe me…It’s the Wolf this time…Help… Help…Help…

    Narrator    While the boy was crying and seeking help,… the wolf had no cause for alarm.  At his leisure he destroyed the whole flock but no one paid any attention to Saïd’s cries, nobody came to help him, because they thought he was trying to fool them again

    The boy    [in a crying voice] Why did nobody come to rescue me ammmm ammmmm [crying] All of this because I lied to them ammmmm ammmm…
Oh may Allah forgive me, … I promise you Allah that I will never lie again…
        ………………………….
    The Boy    OOOHH…What..??? I is a a aa it was dreeeeeeaming…
Oh thank you, Allah you have taught me a great lesson..  I will never forget it and al hamdu lillah, it was not reality; it was only a dream…
